VCM(Variable Cylinder Management)

Image result for variable cylinder managementVCM is the technology that allows the user to switch between the cylinders..

It utilizes the concept of multiple cylinders.and can be employed only in multi-cylinder vehicles..
Here the cylinders are provided with a individual connection of fuel inlet and exhaust valves.so that each can be controlled separately.

This technology maintains power and optimizes fuel economy simultaneously. It activates the engine’s cylinders as needed to meet the demands of both acceleration and fuel efficiency. At 6 cylinder mode, the engine produces an exhilarating kick with its powerful V6 engine, while at 4 cylinder mode, it produces both power and fuel efficiency. And at 3 cylinder mode, fuel saving is achieved.

During heavy traffic the number of cylinders running can be reduced, so that the fuel is saved and emission is also reduced...

It has got a lot of advantages..
Since the cylinders are controlled individually, and only selected cylinder runs at a time..,

  • The emission reduces to a considerable amount,
  • The fuel efficiency too increases drastically ..
  • powerful engine..
  • Lighter weight..

This system enables the engine to switch between six, four and three cylinder operation.

While the engine is under light load such as moderate acceleration or steady cruising, it deactivates cylinders #3 and #4 in both front and rear banks, running the engine with the remaining four cylinders.

And during low speed cruising and descending, the no's 1, 2 and 3 cylinders in the rear bank are deactivated maintaining 3 cylinders running the engine.

This 6-4-3 process improves the overall fuel economy while maintaining the high power output expected from the engine.

-->
With all 6 cylinders firing, you’ll get to experience the full power of the engine.
The engine operates on all 6 cylinders during high-speed driving or accelerating along the Expressway and uphill climbing.

At 4 cylinder mode, it balances both power and fuel efficient performance for a motivating drive.
During mid-speed driving streets or climbing along the moderately inclined road on the way, the 4 cylinders are activated.

While at 3 cylinder mode, fuel efficiency is maximized for a care-free driving.
City driving , cruising downhill makes your engine run at 3 cylinders.
